Building a Greenhouse

After making the decision to build a greenhouse, you have to go through the tedious but enjoyable process of planning for it. There are, however, so many decisions to make during this stage that some people tend to get overwhelmed and just scrap the idea altogether. This is very unfortunate as there are ways to plan and build a greenhouse that are not overwhelming in any way. This article aims to outline the steps that could be taken when building a greenhouse.

A greenhouse is actually quite an easy project to build, and even if you have no one to help you, it can be an easy project for both newbies and advanced DIY woodworkers. Before we get into more about the project and more details about building, let's go over some basic planning material.

Where To Put Your Greenhouse?

It goes without saying that a greenhouse must be able to grow plants inside. For the plants to grow properly, we need them to get the most sunlight. Choosing the southeast part of your garden is the perfect spot, as the plants prefer the morning sunlight. Anywhere you can find that gets sunlight all today is fit to build a greenhouse.

Even as you begin collecting your supplies, you want to have in mind what kind of weather in which your plants are able to thrive. If they're the kind of plants that require temperate climates, you'll want to consider a hoop house, lean-to, or cold frame greenhouse. Both the hoop and cold frame greenhouses allow the gardener the luxury of movement --being able to move your house from one location to another in your yard gives your plants the opportunity to flourish as the seasons change. Lean-tos take up little space, acting as additions to the side of your house.

Any greenhouse designer will tell you that weather conditions aren't your only consideration. Thinking about the kind of space you're working with will help you decide if a traditional greenhouse or a hobby house is for you. For instance, if you live in a traditional flat with a balcony or patio, your best bet is to choose a greenhouse design most suited for small spaces --a hobby house or a mini greenhouse. These houses are both the perfect size for limited space is an issue.

hough you're just planning to build a small greenhouse, it has to have everything that's suitable to your needs as a grower. It has to be made of materials that's compatible with the weather. It has to have ample space to grow the plants you're planning to have.

Personally, I never had any problem in design. Once you determine the things you have to consider as discussed above, it'll be much easier to build a greenhouse that's very suitable to your preference.

In any case, I had the help of a very useful guide that takes me through the step-by-step process with its instructions to build a small, yet cheap greenhouse. I was even able to use some scrap resources I had in my shed. Of course, having some pictures along with the instructions vastly helped too!

Death of a beloved garden plant due to cold weather is devastating for an avid gardener. Such tragedy can be avoided with the help of an indoor greenhouse. Because it allows a gardener to control the temperature and climate, a garden plant can grow well in a greenhouse during cold weather. What is more, you can stay fit and healthy because you can now grow to tropical herbs with great health benefits, like lemon grass, all year-round if you have a greenhouse.

Will it cost much? An indoor greenhouse might sound techy, but it does not cost much. A nice high-end portable 3' X 5' greenhouse kit that you can set up indoors can cost $99 or below. If that will be too large for your available space, there are some small 3-tier or 4-tier indoor greenhouses that have a price-tag from around $40-$75.

Iphone and Samsung Galaxy

No matter which product you look at it seems if Apple comes out with a new product that catches the markets eye, Samsung is not far behind with an alternative. Whether it be in cellphones, computing tablets, or laptop computers it does not matter.

In the case of cellphones Samsung quickly came out with some of the first Android enabled smartphones that looked and felt a lot like the Apple iPhone. An alternative for those who lusted over the iPhone's great looking style and interface but wanted to stay on their preferred carrier.

We recently compared the offerings and prices for a range of Apple product accessories at the Apple store and another popular web retailer. First, we shopped for arm band cases for the iPod Touch, always a popular accessory for joggers. At Apple, they start at $29.95, but the alternate retailer has a similar model on sale for under 24 bucks. We thought it might be interesting to pick out a common accessory for the newest iPod Nano and settled on the Apple Dock Connector USB Cable, the part that iPod users seem to lose most frequently. The Apple Store currently lists this at $19, which seemed reasonable until we checked the other site and found they were offering the OEM Apple cable for less than ten dollars. Finally we looked at iPod Mini accessories, but that wasn't a fair comparison because the Apple Store doesn't stock any. Ironic, isn't it? And it goes without saying that shopping for anything else, like HTC replacement batteries or LG cell phone covers will be a short and unsuccessful trip to the Apple Store.

The tablet runs on the latest Android 2.2 operating system and one of the major benefits of doing so is that it has full flash support. Hence, browsing web pages is the same as it is on the iPad, if not better. Like the iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is available in two different versions based on their memory, 16 GB and 32 GB. This would seem like a massive storage for most people, but should you need more, you can always use micro-SD cards to further boost it by another 32 GB. Even though the phone has a large touch screen, it does have some hardware buttons that only increase the usability of the phone.

PC connection port and a 3.5 mm audio jack are some of the other external hardware options that can be found on this slim and sleek gadget. Samsung seem to have put more effort into making this tablet as much as a media device as possible. This is especially visible in the number of file formats that this phone can support like DivX, Mpeg-4 and so on. It also supports a wide range of audio file formats too. The phone has an on-screen keyboard for inputting all kinds of text inputs that can be possibly imagined. The small form factor also makes it easy to type rather than being a hindrance. The phone has a 3 megapixel camera at the back. Even though this may not sound much, this still takes more than great pictures.

The Samsung Galaxy S Contract Deals includes 1GHz Snapdragon processor which gives the device a smooth run of the applications and features. The device with its interesting 4 inches length has used Super AMOLED display which the company claims will save energy. The Samsung Galaxy S comes with a primary and secondary camera. The front camera has 5MP (megapixel). There is a 3.5mm headset port, a microSD slot, Wi-Fi with DLNA support and Bluetooth. Samsung has tried to capture the customer's imagination with the Android 2.1 mobile OS to start with which company will upgrade to FroYo Android 2.2 sometime down the line in future.

So right now the iPhone is still the phone to have and with each release it does get better. I think that the iPhone will always have the upper hand its a phone that does not look and feel like any other. When you use an iPhone your using the greatest phone invented so far. Maybe one day we will have an iPhone killer but for now the iPhone lives on.

The Samsung Galaxy is the first legitimate competition for Apple's iPad because the Galaxy matches or goes beyond the iPad's capabilities, giving electronic consumers a new piece of equipment with greater functionality. It will be interesting to see in the coming months just how well the Galaxy does going head-to-head with Apple's iPad, but the Galaxy certainly has everything it needs to effectively compete.

Success and Failure

With the passing last evening of the visionary Steve Jobs, there has been much discussion about what made him special, and different than most leaders. Jobs had no college degree, but rather emphasized innovation and seeing things as they could and perhaps should be, rather than merely how they are. He introduced his company from the basement of his parent's home, with little financial backing, and developed it into the technology company with perhaps the most sought out products and methods.

However, perhaps what made Jobs so tremendously successful is that he refused to accept failure as an option, and visualized ways that he could make things better. He saw things as they could be, and prioritized how he could make a difference. In President Obama's official statement, he mentioned the ultimate compliment to Jobs was that a large percentage of the public first learned of Job's passing on a device developed or brought about by Jobs. Is that not the ultimate degree of success?

Rejection can come in many different forms such as rejection from a member of the opposite sex, rejection from a college or university, or having an idea rejected. Adopting a positive mindset will not prevent us from experiencing rejection - rejection is a natural part of life and we have to learn to deal with it. However, it is our frame of mind that determines how we deal with rejection, and this is the vital factor.

If we have dug ourselves a deep dark hole of negativity and we feel trapped and powerless to free ourselves, if we have adopted a negative mindset, then rejection would have an adverse affect on us and subsequently prevent us from achieving. The reason for this is because with a negative mindset, a losing mentality, we would dwell on rejection and so our inner belief would dissolve. Consequently, we would not only fail to better ourselves, but we would also fail to take the necessary action in order for us to achieve whatever it was we were once trying to achieve. Hence a losing mentality will only cause us to dig ourselves even deeper into our dark hole of negativity and subsequently set ourselves up for more rejection.

On the other hand, if we have a positive mindset and we are in control of our life then rejection would not affect us at all; we would keep on going and so would eventually succeed. This is because, despite the rejection, with a winning mentality we would maintain positive beliefs about ourselves and what we want and we would continue to strive towards whatever we were trying to achieve; we would be persistent and constantly seek to better ourselves. Therefore, by adopting a winning mentality, we are setting ourselves up for success.

These two simple exercises will clarify your failure template:

1)Take a few moments to jot down some times you remember failing and how that experience impacted you. How did the adults or friends in your life support (or not support) you through this experience? What feelings emerged through this failure? Did you try again, or did you give up? Do those past failures continue to play out in your present willingness to try new things? The more you know about the details of these experiences, the more helpful you can be when you engage your child in processing their own failures.

2) It can be helpful to have your child talk about their failure. Have them write or tell a little story about their failure from a 3rd person perspective as if it had happened to a fictional character and what that character could do following the failure. What was learned from the failure and how might it help them in the future? Help the child figure out their next step... anything but giving up.

Giving up is the only true failure. What failures have you transformed to success?

Clotaire rapaille

The Culture Code is the unconscious meaning we apply to any given thing -- a car, a type of food, a relationship, even a country -- via the culture in which we are raised. The American experience with Jeeps is very different from the French and German experience because our cultures evolved differently (we have strong cultural memories of the open frontier; the French and Germans have strong cultural memories of occupation and war). In The Culture Code , Dr. Rapaille decodes two dozen of our most fundamental archetypes--ranging from sex to money to health to America itself--to give us "a new set of glasses" with which to view our actions and motivations. These codes?the Culture Code?are what make us American, or German, or French, and they invisibly shape how we behave in our personal lives, even when we are completely unaware of our motives.

And now, in The Culture Code, he uses it to reveal why Americans act distinctly like Americans, and what makes us different from the world around us. Rapaille has used the Culture Code to help Chrysler build the PT Cruiser--the most successful American car launch in recent memory. Rapaille, Clotaire, The Culture Code, (New York: Broadway Books), 2006.

Currently, I am reading The Culture Code by Clotaire Rapaille. The answers are in the codes. In The Culture Code, internationally revered cultural anthropologist and marketing expert Clotaire Rapaille reveals for the first time the techniques he has used to improve profitability and practices for dozens of Fortune 100 companies. The respective folder is denoted by the culture code.

Pulitzer board

Mukherjee is a wonderful storyteller with a gift for interweaving elegant science with clear and concise explanation. Mukherjee is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University in New York City. Mukherjee couldn't answer her, nor could he name a book that would answer the patient's query. Her first novel "The Namesake" was adapted into a movie by Mira Nair.

The first new US diagnostic guidelines for Alzheimer's disease to be released in 27 years paint the disorder as a disease that occurs gradually over many years, starting with changes in the brain, then mild memory problems and finally progressing to full-blown dementia. The first chemicals used by Farber against cancer were provided by a team of scientists led by Yellapragada Subbarow, who trained as a doctor in India before moving to the U.S. in 1923. The first of these cancers, and perhaps the most worrisome, is the emergence of malpractice in the as yet nascent "organised" health care delivery sector. For the first time, the Pulitzer board, which decides on the winners after juries in each category make their recommendations, did not award a prize for breaking news reporting.

These are first edit versions, in the process of refinement and finalisation. Amar Nath Sharma, first spotted Sehwag at the Government Boys School ground at Vikas Puri in West Delhi when he was just 14. It was only 15 years ago that we first began to get any real genetic understanding, and those first clues were scattered and unclear. Spanning almost 4000 years from the first references during the times of the Pharaohs to 2008, the epic journey covers the attempts to eradicate Cancer by the surgeons, the chemists, the radiologists and lastly the geneticists. Mukherjee never allows us to forget this first principle of uncertainty that makes medical science something of a leap in the dark ? for both doctors and patients. When I finally took the plunge and penned the first line, I didn't really have any plot in mind. But I was very clear about the people and the environment I wanted to write about.
