Iphone and Samsung Galaxy

No matter which product you look at it seems if Apple comes out with a new product that catches the markets eye, Samsung is not far behind with an alternative. Whether it be in cellphones, computing tablets, or laptop computers it does not matter.

In the case of cellphones Samsung quickly came out with some of the first Android enabled smartphones that looked and felt a lot like the Apple iPhone. An alternative for those who lusted over the iPhone's great looking style and interface but wanted to stay on their preferred carrier.

We recently compared the offerings and prices for a range of Apple product accessories at the Apple store and another popular web retailer. First, we shopped for arm band cases for the iPod Touch, always a popular accessory for joggers. At Apple, they start at $29.95, but the alternate retailer has a similar model on sale for under 24 bucks. We thought it might be interesting to pick out a common accessory for the newest iPod Nano and settled on the Apple Dock Connector USB Cable, the part that iPod users seem to lose most frequently. The Apple Store currently lists this at $19, which seemed reasonable until we checked the other site and found they were offering the OEM Apple cable for less than ten dollars. Finally we looked at iPod Mini accessories, but that wasn't a fair comparison because the Apple Store doesn't stock any. Ironic, isn't it? And it goes without saying that shopping for anything else, like HTC replacement batteries or LG cell phone covers will be a short and unsuccessful trip to the Apple Store.

The tablet runs on the latest Android 2.2 operating system and one of the major benefits of doing so is that it has full flash support. Hence, browsing web pages is the same as it is on the iPad, if not better. Like the iPad, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is available in two different versions based on their memory, 16 GB and 32 GB. This would seem like a massive storage for most people, but should you need more, you can always use micro-SD cards to further boost it by another 32 GB. Even though the phone has a large touch screen, it does have some hardware buttons that only increase the usability of the phone.

PC connection port and a 3.5 mm audio jack are some of the other external hardware options that can be found on this slim and sleek gadget. Samsung seem to have put more effort into making this tablet as much as a media device as possible. This is especially visible in the number of file formats that this phone can support like DivX, Mpeg-4 and so on. It also supports a wide range of audio file formats too. The phone has an on-screen keyboard for inputting all kinds of text inputs that can be possibly imagined. The small form factor also makes it easy to type rather than being a hindrance. The phone has a 3 megapixel camera at the back. Even though this may not sound much, this still takes more than great pictures.

The Samsung Galaxy S Contract Deals includes 1GHz Snapdragon processor which gives the device a smooth run of the applications and features. The device with its interesting 4 inches length has used Super AMOLED display which the company claims will save energy. The Samsung Galaxy S comes with a primary and secondary camera. The front camera has 5MP (megapixel). There is a 3.5mm headset port, a microSD slot, Wi-Fi with DLNA support and Bluetooth. Samsung has tried to capture the customer's imagination with the Android 2.1 mobile OS to start with which company will upgrade to FroYo Android 2.2 sometime down the line in future.

So right now the iPhone is still the phone to have and with each release it does get better. I think that the iPhone will always have the upper hand its a phone that does not look and feel like any other. When you use an iPhone your using the greatest phone invented so far. Maybe one day we will have an iPhone killer but for now the iPhone lives on.

The Samsung Galaxy is the first legitimate competition for Apple's iPad because the Galaxy matches or goes beyond the iPad's capabilities, giving electronic consumers a new piece of equipment with greater functionality. It will be interesting to see in the coming months just how well the Galaxy does going head-to-head with Apple's iPad, but the Galaxy certainly has everything it needs to effectively compete.
